night time photos

Pretty near bedtime last night the kids followed me into the bedroom and we were just hanging out. I decided to pull out my trusted camera and catch a few poses with my babies. Our room doesn't have a whole lot of lighting so that is why they are sort of dark but they still turned out pretty good I think. Whenever I used the flash it seemed to drown out our faces too much. I love my babies! The last photo is one I caught of Ethan playing with Dan's racquet ball racket case. He thought it was pretty cool. Please feel free to leave comments on any of my posts. I love reading them and it makes me feel good that someone else cares what is going on over here.

Kiera Portrait #2 progress

I decided to start another portrait last night of Kiera. It is from a picture I took when we went to the Portland Children's Museum back in December. It is coming along but there are a few quirky things with it that I need to fix. I forgot how hard mouths and lips are. And I am having a little trouble with a few other things. It is definitely going to take some more practice. I wish I had my teacher standing behind me critiquing my work for me. I learned so much more that way. I really need to stay on top of this. But I thought you'd like to see the progress I am making with it. Here's the updated picture that I promised. Doesn't it look so much better?

My Testimony

Today is Sunday and I am taking a moment to meditate and think. I stayed home from church today with sick kids and so I am feeling a little spiritually deprived. However, I am trying my best to remember why we have this day set apart from the rest of the week. I am so grateful for a day to focus my attention back on my Savior Jesus Christ. Life would be so pointless if I didn't take notice, and acknowledge that everything around me is because of Him.
I know that my Savior lives and that he died for me. I know that he loves me enough that he would give his life to save me, (just plain old me). I try to share that knowledge that I have with others around me because I know that he loves each of us.
It doesn't matter where we are in life, and it doesn't matter if we believe in Him. He still loves us and he DOES believe in US. He wants us to be happy. We just have to let him in our lives.
I know that families can be forever and that the relationships we make with our family members are the most important, because they are the ones who we will be with after this life. I am so grateful for my family and for a loving husband who supports me and shows his love to me and our children. I am so lucky to have found him, and look forward to the rest of eternity that I have to spend with him.
I am so grateful for my calling of being a mother. I am humbled that Heavenly Father would trust me with such precious spirits to look after and teach. I am trying my best to be a good mother to them and know that my responsibilities are great. I look forward to the challenge and know that we aren't given anything in this life that we can't handle. With that, I am thankful for the knowledge that my Savior is with me and is there to help me.
I am grateful for a prophet who guides us and teaches us, and am grateful for the scriptures. I know the Book of Mormon to be true. I have read it, and have prayed about it. I have felt the Spirit testify to be that it is true. I know that if you do the same you can also receive that witness. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Peek a Boo Ethan

About a week ago I posted a picture of Kiera underneath her toy bin. Well today I am posting a couple pictures of Ethan taking after his big sister. He loves to explore as well and recently has a fetish for the laundry hamper. He likes to crawl in and peek back to get a reaction from whomever is watching him. It is so cute!

Redone Ethan Portrait

I decided to redo Ethan's portrait today. It really needed to be done. Not only was is a bad picture but it got destroyed since I left my easel too close to Ethan's crib the other day. He pulled it down and into the crib. There was charcoal EVERYWHERE! Now that that is all cleaned up I have moved the easel out of his reach. Here are a couple pictures of the redone portrait. I'm getting it all back. I am just about back to the level I was at before. Just need to practice some more.
