What are we supposed to learn?

So what are some things we are supposed to learn from this? I am sure many of you have asked the same question when something goes another way than what you've planned. I heard the other day from a very wise man (my husband), "being ok, and having what we want, aren't always the same." Things will work out, it just may not be how we wanted it to.

I have had some time lately to sit and think about this question. So what are we supposed to be learning from all this? I know many people who have lost their jobs some are friends and others are close family. Many more people are being affected by the economy. It is scary to watch and it is stressful to about. These are really hard times. It makes me wonder what we are all supposed to be learning from this. Maybe it is Gods way of telling us we need to pull together more. Maybe he's telling us to focus on the more important things in life. Whatever it is, I know the experience may be hard but we'll pull through it somehow.

I'd like to hear from any of you who are experiencing similar trials. What have you learned or what are you learning?

My opinion, because things aren't going bad for us yet (knock on wood) is that God is wanting us to be prepared. Whether that's spiritually or physically. We need to work on having the Spirit in our lives on a daily basis and do all we can to be a good people. We also need to focus on what's important- and let all that fluffy, frivolous stuff go. We need to be prepared for emergencies. I think too, it's a humbling time. We don't need to be flashy, we can have nice things, but need to live within our means. I'm thinking it's a great time to be resourceful and use our talents and skills to get by on what little we can.

Thanks for your comment Kim. I agree with you too. We do need to be prepared. We have been told that over and over again and I think these times are making people wake up and get busy getting prepared. I think it is also funny that the new ensign is all about that too. Thanks again for your comment. I love em!

These are the last days and we are living to see prophecy fulfilled. If you want to speak to God--pray. If you want God to speak to you--read the scriptures. It is SO VITAL that we live what we know and that we teach our children when they are young. We have only until the age of accountability that our teachings can't be countered by Satan. We need to make sure that they develop the habits of prayer, scripture study, FHE, etc. before that time so that they have their "armour" for the hard times to come. God is in control--he has a plan for each of us! Keep your covenants 100% and things will work out.
